Lutheran Disaster Response

The Social Ministry Committee’s focus for September is Lutheran Disaster Response – locally, across our nation, and around the world. Catastrophic floods, wildfires, and hurricane destruction require needs to which many of us feel called to respond. Rev. Glenn Beard, Coordinator of the Lower Susquehanna Synod Disaster Response Network, is coordinating efforts here in our synod and is developing plans for volunteers to go to Puerto Rico in response to last year’s hurricane Maria. Watch for updates. Together, we can help bring God’s hope, healing, and renewal to people whose lives have been disrupted.
